He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1972, and a Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University in 1975. Prior to joining the Executive Office for Immigration Review, Judge Duck was in private practice from 1975 to 1986 in Oakdale, Louisiana. He also served as assistant district attorney in Oberlin, Louisiana, from 1978 to 1986. Judge Duck is a member of the Louisiana Bar.
