From 2007 to 2020, he served as a state trial court judge, in Utuado, Puerto Rico. From 2003 to 2007,he was in private practice, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. From 2001 to 2003, he served as a law clerkfor the Puerto Rico Appeals Court, in San Juan. Judge Talavera-Peraza is a member of the Puerto Rico State Bar.
