Attorney General William P. Barr appointed Christopher M. Schumann as an Immigration Judgein October 2020. Judge Schumann earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1993 from Arizona State University, a Juris Doctor in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and a Masterof Laws in 2005 from the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School. From 2000 to 2020, he was an attorney and a military judge with the U.S. Air Force in the following locations:Yokota Air Base, Japan; Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama; The Pentagon, District of Columbia; Misawa Air Base, Japan; Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada; Royal Air Force,Lakenheath, England; and Travis Air Force Base, California. In October 2020, he retired as acolonel from the U.S. Air Force, having last served as the chief circuit military judge for the Western Circuit. Judge Schumann is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar.
