From 2016 to 2019, she served as an assistant chief counsel for the Office of the Chief Counsel, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Miami.From 2011 to 2016, she served as an assistant attorney general for the Florida Office of Criminal Appeals Division. Judge Burnham is a member of the Florida Bar.
