Attorney General William P. Barr appointed Mark K. Brooks as an Immigration Judge in December 2020. Judge Brooks earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1982 from Columbia Union College(now Washington Adventist University) and a Juris Doctor in 1986 from the Antioch School of Law. From 2019 to 2020, he served as a special trial attorney, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in Arlington, Virginia, on detail from U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), DHS.From 2017 to 2020, he served as an immigration officer, Fraud Detection National Security Directorate, USCIS, DHS. From 2012 to 2016, and previously from 1986 to 2001, he wasengaged in litigation practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland. From 2005 to 2012, heserved as an attorney advisor, Office of Chief Counsel, Federal Emergency Management Agency, DHS, in the District of Columbia. From 2001 to 2004, he served as an assistant stateattorney with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, in Upper Marlboro,Maryland. Judge Brooks is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and Maryland State Bar.
