Karen Nazaire was appointed as an Immigration Judge to begin hearing cases in October 2022. Judge Nazaire earned two Bachelor of Arts in 2007 from Kean University, a Juris Doctor in 2011 from Mississippi College School of Law, and a Master of Laws in 2012 from American University Washington College of Law. From 2017 to 2021, she served as an assistant chief counsel, OPLA, ICE, DHS, in Phoenix. During that time, from 2012 to 2016, she provided in-house consultations and training on criminal immigration matters to staff and contract attorneys statewide. Judge Nazaire is a member of the New Jersey State Bar and New York State Bar.
