Chase Calder Cleveland was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in November 2024. Judge Cleveland earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2006 from the University of Tennessee and a Juris Doctor in 2009 from the Texas Tech University School of Law. From 2023 to 2024, he served as a supervisory appellate attorney for the U.S. Army Government Appellate Division. From 2011 to 2023, he served as a prosecutor in the U.S. Army in the following locations: the U.S. Military Academy, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Fort Cavazos, Texas; and the Military District of Washington, D.C. From 2019 to 2021, he served as a judge advocate with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a trial defense counsel at Fort Bliss, Texas. From 2010 to 2011, he served as an administrative law attorney at the U.S. Military Academy. From 2012 to 2013 and 2020 to 2021, he deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan, as the officer in charge of the detainee review boards with Task Force 435 and as a brigade judge advocate with the 10th Mountain Division. Judge Cleveland is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
