Attorney General Eric Holder appointed Judge Christensen in October 2010. Judge Christensen received a bachelor of arts degree in 1997 from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a juris doctorate in 2000 from the University of Iowa College of Law. From 2006 to October 2010, he worked as a supervisor in the immigration unit of the Staff Attorneys' Office, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. From 2005 to 2006, Judge Christensen taught legal writing at American University's Washington College of Law. From 2002 to 2005, Judge Christensen was an attorney at the Federal Election Commission. From 2001 to 2002, he was in private practice in Chicago. Judge Christensen is a member of the Illinois and New York State Bars and the District of Columbia Bar.
